KokoroMOD 0.4 With SIS Installer for Unhacked Satio, Vivaz & Vivaz Pro

This revision includes a SIS installer, which allows the mod to be installed onto unhacked devices (Satio, Vivaz & Vivaz Pro). It still must be signed with a 17 capabilities certificate. The installer does not install all features but it does install most. For now, the SIS file just installs all the mods.

-Optimized Memory Settings which has resulted in a much more responsive device
-Updated TrackID icon in Media
-Updated Equalizer icon in Media (Thanks to PlitC for providing the icon)
-Updated Facebook application (Uses Symbian Keyboard) (Java) to version 2.64
-Uses a New method (*.cre) for setting the number of saved sent messages to 9999999
-Media shortcut icons colour has been changed to light grey to match with the Media icons
-Updated internet user agent version to R2EA
-Removed RoadSync Panel as it does not work with the Satio, even if you install RoadSync 5.
-Updated Facebook Web pub. plugins from Vivaz R2EA021 firmware. Must be installed using the .Jad file Note: Even though it will say that you have version 60 installed, this version is newer (Extra folder)
-Updated TwitPic Web pub. plugins from Vivaz R2EA021 firmware. Must be installed using the .Jad file (Extra folder)
-Halved screen rotation time
-Added more Game UID's
-Added a Movie Editor installer in the extras folder (Requires signing)
-Added a link to the Movie Editor under the video section in Media
-Fixed the "Equalizer in music and youtube in video" extra
-Removed 4x Media transition as it was causing the Media to crash at times. I've moved it to the extra folder
-Replaced Google Search shortcut on the homescreen with the calendar (Thanks to PlitC for providing the icon)
-Updated Youtube application to 2.44. All credit goes to pankomputerek (Extras Folder)
-OfficeSuite, Alternate Reader & PDF+ will automatically be moved to the organizer folder upon installation.
-If you get an error "cannot use as wallpaper" Set Open4All in Ropmatcher+ to auto and rebbot the phone (Credit to Just486 for the fix)
-Disabled Widget Security Mod as it was incompatable with mahny widgets.
-SIS Installer is now present. This is a cut down version of KokoroMOD 0.4 & does not feature many features, Manual installation is recomended if possible.

Sony Ericsson Movie Editor

Sony Ericsson have finally released the advertised movie editor. It seems to have been outsourced and is not hardware accelerated like the home screen, camera or media. But at least it's an option on the go.

Download it from PlayNow directly from your phone

KurarAcoustics

The Vivaz/Vivaz Pro has updated acoustics which produce better sound quality and for some reason these acoustics are not present in the Satio's firmware. It will replace BAM if you already have that installed and is no where near as loud. Basithz has said that he may use this as a base for a future version of BAM.

Sony Ericsson Symbian iSync Plugin MOD (Satio, Vivaz & Vivaz Pro) (Mac)

Synchronising your Sony Ericsson Symbian phone on a Macintosh is a real pain. Sony Ericsson has crippled the plugin by adding small character limits and so long items such as addresses are not synchronised fully. This is a big problem as the information is not fully synchronised and when the phone is synchronised issues must be manually resolved which is time consuming and can lead to data loss. I have fixed the plugin, by merging the Sony Ericsson plugins with the Nokia N97's plugin, this has fixed most bugs and annoyances and now the synchronisation process runs like clockwork. This is compatible with all Sony Ericsson Symbian^1 phones (Satio, Vivaz,& Vivaz Pro).

Download Note: The installer will say "the installation has been unsuccessful" , don't worry the plugins have been copied and are fully functional.

KokoroMOD 0.3.3

This is a minor release, it features the flash panels from the Vivaz Pro R2EA021 Firmware (Thanks to Fari and mietek190 for providing the firmware) along with some application shortcuts being placed in the Media application. The Vivaz Pro R2EA021 firmware offers nothing new and the Satio owners feeling left out by Sony Ericsson's decision to stop providing updates should not. Thanks to Basithz for providing me with UIQ Z:/ Drive dumps which have helped me understand how to place shortcuts in the Media application as they contain comments by Sony Ericsson)

-A button is present on the main media screen where the filename encoding can be changed
-A link to the Equalizer is now present in Media in the Music & Video sections
-A link to the Radio is now present in Media in the Music section
-A link to the Voice recorder is now present in Media in the Music section
-A link to TrackID is now present in Media in the Music section
-A link to YouTube is now present in media in the video section for anyone that didn't have it
-Removed all PlayNow links from Media
-A personalised media file for the United Kingdom, contains all of the above, as well as a link to TVCacthup, BBC iPlayer & an update BBC iPlayer icon.
-The folder containing the flash files (Adobe® Flash®) has been renamed to "Adobe Flash" as it was being duplicated whenever a user updated to a newer version of this pack due to the phone not handling ® symbols properly.
-Fixed an incorrect UID which prevented Dance Fabulous from being moved to the Games Folder
-Updated Twitter panel from the Vivaz Pro R2EA021 Firmware (This one stores your username & password)
-Extracted Facebook Panel (Great work Sony Ericsson, took you 10 months to release it unofficially and not for the Satio even though it is advertised on the box and the advertisements) (Luckily this version takes the stored username & password from the Facebook Java application and so you will not be prompted for your username and password, not that useful of an application as the news feed is short but status updating works. It requires the Sony Ericsson Facebook (Java) application to work.
-Extracted RoadSync Panel from Vivaz Pro R2EA021 Firmware (Untested but it does run - it may need RoadSync 5, the Satio has RoadSync 4)
-Media transitions are 4 times faster (Will Only be activated when C2Z is enabled)
-Fixed a bug where the Flow & Twitter panels
-The Sony Ericsson Facebook Application (Java) has been extracted from the Vivaz Pro R2EA021 Firmware. (This version uses the Symbian keyboard) (Can be found in Extras)
-The Equalizer has been added to the extras folder for anyone that can't access PlayNow
-The Sony Ericsson Facebook Application (Java) has been added to the extras folder for anyone that can't access PlayNow, this version is newer than the one provided for Satio's on PlayNow and is needed for the Facebook Panel to work.
-Fixed the Enable Dialler, Phone Call, Video Call applications to be used in landscape extra
-Changed Web Browser user agent to the Vivaz as PlayNow offers more applications, newer versions and has a homescreen panel tab.
Download

Update: If the Facebook Panel doesn't login, Run the Facebook Application (Java), login and minimize it and then the Facebook Panel should work.

Update 2: here's a TrackID media icon I made http://www.mediafire.com/?vkdapfyhppu04cq . If you are still facing panel issues delete C:/private/10202be9/2001F0DC.txt & C:/private/10202be9/persists/2001F0DC.cre (If Present)

I'm a King!!

I just got my results today and will be studying Computer Science with Management BSc at King's College London. Number 23 in the world, not too shabby eh :D Ironically the university is just across the river from the Symbian Foundation :P

I am so happy and to celebrate there will be two new releases by Sunday.

How to do a manual hard reset without losing manufacturer capabilities (No downgrading needed)

This guide assumes that you already have a hacked phone with manufacturer capabilities. No more frustrations with the downgrading process. Note: You still need to

1. Download this file ROMPatcher+ 2.3.zip
2. Copy patcher.ldd to C:/sys/bin/patcher.ldd
3. Copy patcherShadow.ldd to C:/sys/bin/patcherShadow.ldd
4. Sign RomPatcherPlus_2.3_LiteVersion.sis with your 17 capabilities certificate
5. Make a backup of your personal data with the built in backup manager
6. Delete as many files as you can but make sure not to delete C:/sys/bin/patcher.ldd and C:/sys/bin/patcherShadow.ldd
7. By the time you finish deleting stuff, you should have about 70MB on C:/
8. Reboot your phone twice
9. Install the RomPatcherPlus_2.3_LiteVersion.sis which you signed previously to C:/ (Phone Memory) - HelloOX2 can be uninstalled as it is no longer needed
10. Your phone has now been manually hard reset without losing your hack and having to downgrade
11. Restore any backup you made but do not restore your settings as they can cause issues with mods or bring back bugs.

Bam V3

Basithz has just released BAM V3 (basithz acoustic mod) which is an acoustic modification that will make the phones loudspeaker louder and improve upon the sound quality. This is not my work and I am just sharing the word. If you want help with anything make sure to post here. You will need the C2Z patch which you must generate as each firmware requires a different patch.

BAM v3

*)Ringtone volume has been increased.
*)Microphone sound has been boosted/increased. (Recording video, sound recorder etc. is now louder, so if you had problems not hearing small sounds when you recorded them this will fix that)
*)Headphone sound has been increased to max. (Due to audio leveler it cannot go any higher)

BAM v2
*)Sound quality has been increased for the loud speaker.
*)Less distortion from loud speaker.
*)There is now more bass for both loud speaker and head phones. (Use megabass from EQ app from SE)
*)Increased the sound of head phones.
*)Increased sound quality of head phones.
*)Added edited EQ.(Use the EQ app from playnow; setting for EQ changed, all EQ presets have been edited to give best sound quality and loudness)

BAM v1
*)Increases sound of loud speaker a lot whilst keeping it from distorting much
*)Increases sound of head phones a lot whilst keeping it from distorting much

KokoroMOD 0.3.2

Just a couple of bug fixes and a couple new features. I am waiting for someone to dump the new Vivaz Pro firmware before I start on version 0.4

To use this modification you must have RomPatcher+ installed with the Open4All patch enabled during installation. The Phone may appear slow after installation as the settings are being updated. You are responsible for any damage to your device! This hack has been tested on a Sony Ericsson Satio with firmware version R2AK006. The files in this pack are my property and credits must be given. If you want any wok to be included in this pack then you can contact me. This pack is open, in that anybody can contribute and modify files as long as proper credits are given.

Camera driver mods cannot be done, blame Sony Ericsson for not following Symbian's camera guidelines. For Acoustics you can use BAM. I had previously made a SIS installer to allow installation on unhacked phones with most features but some issues where holding up this release and so has been pushed to KokoroMOD 0.4

-When checking the firmware version C:\Private\102072c4\reserved.bin a 0kb file is created opposed to the 5MB file, saving 5 megabytes on C:/ (This is safe as Sony Ericsson has never provided a Over The Air Update and by the looks of things, does not intend to and so this OTA update cache is not needed)

Version 0.2
-Disabled boot up animation and sound (3 Second boot up time saved) (Thanks to dzver0 for the inspiration)
-Phone Dialler, Voice call and Video Call Applications can be used in landscape
-Fixed the DLNA crashing bug (Thanks to Mustaine8661 for the fix)

-The Internet browser can now be rotated even if screen rotation is disabled in sensor settings (Options->Display Options->Rotate Screen) (Credit to NP)
-The Voice Recorder can now record for up to 24 Hours
-Maximum bit rate is used when recording sound

-Removed widget security warnings (Credit to Szalakit)

Version 0.3
-The number of saved sent messages is now 9999999. (Note: Do not change this value in settings or it will revert to =<999>
-Added an option in the Extras folder do enable the Unlocking/Locking of the phone in the same way as the Vivaz (The slider will still work)
-Updated Flow & Twitter Panels to the versions from the Vivaz Pro R2CA024 firmware

-Touch screen vibration time halved which should increase UI responsiveness and battery life when vibration feedback is enabled. (Value is the same as Symbian^3)
-Maximum wallpaper dimensions are now 4000*4000, this fixes a bug where rotated 12 megapixel images (3000*4000) cannot be set as wallpapers
-FPS changed to 30, This is temporary until the Media slowdown is resolved.
-Disabled Phone Dialler, Voice call and Video Call Applications landscape mode as it was causing problems. (Can be re-enabled in the extra folder)

-Added more game UID's to the games folder
-Removed the MMS 20 slide limitation and now an unlimited number of slides can be used
-Screen Rotation values have been changed to the Nokia N8's values
-Fixed a bug which caused the backlight to stay on even when the phone is locked
-Fixed a bug which prevented the screen from displaying upon waking up
-Fixed a couple mistakes which have resulted in slightly better performance

Version 0.3.1
-Removed the "Send SIS & JAR files" Rompatcher+ patch as it was preventing the creation of a message (Thanks to Pankomputerek for the heads up). X-Plore can be used to send SIS & JAR files so this patch causes more problems than it brings benefits.

Version 0.3.2
-The Vivaz Home screen tab indicators have been replaced with the colourful Satio ones. Can be disabled in the disable hacks folder.
-Moved the Rompatcher+ patches to E:/patches/ as they where in the wrong folder and where not detected by Rompatcher+

-Fixed a bug where the Main panel on the Satio home screen was not rendering properly.

It is recommended that everyone updates to this version
